Cancer New Moon

Cancer New Moon Yoga Flow
workout intention/affirmation:
I am my own safe harbor. I create safety, warmth, and peace within myself wherever I go. I am worthy of the same deep care and nurturing that I give to others.
Recite this ahead of your workout, meditate on this during your breathwork, and recite it again at the conclusion of your workout to align with the energy of the cancer new moon.
FLOW
Grounding & Fluid Cat-Cow
Start on your hands and knees. Instead of rigid linear movements, explore fluid, watery shapes. As you inhale, drop your belly and open your chest (ruling Cancer area).
As you exhale, round your spine. Add gentle hip circles, moving like slow-flowing water to release physical and emotional tension in the lower back and hips.
Supported Heart Opener
Place a yoga block or a firmly rolled blanket horizontally underneath your shoulder blades, and a second support under your head.
Lay back over the supports, letting your arms open wide like wings.
Focus your breath entirely into your chest and diaphragm, expanding the area Cancer rules to invite vulnerability and emotional release.
Sphinx Somatic Waves
Lie flat on your stomach. Bring your elbows under your shoulders, lifting your upper chest gently into Sphinx pose. Press your pubic bone into the mat to protect your lower back.
On an exhale, lower your forehead down. On an inhale, gently ripple back up. This soft, repetitive pulsing activates the parasympathetic nervous system.
Supported Child's Pose
Widen your knees, touch your big toes together, and sink your hips back toward your heels.
Slide a long pillow or bolster under your torso. Turn your head to one side and let the bolster fully support your weight.
This posture embodies the ultimate Cancer trait: creating a safe "shell" or home within yourself to rest and recalibrate.
laying flat deep Breathing
Lie flat on your back. Place one hand on your heart and one hand on your stomach (the center of intuition).
As you breathe, feel your hands rise and fall together.
Use these final minutes of absolute stillness to mentally plant the intentions you want to manifest during this new lunar cycle.
